Submission Guidelines
We invite researchers and clinicians to submit abstracts for presentation at the 11th Congress of the BioIron Society. The work must be original and unpublished, or recently published (less than 1 year from the abstract submission deadline). All submissions are peer-reviewed by the Scientific Review Committee to ensure scientific rigor and relevance to the congress theme.

An email will be issued to all oral presenters in early spring 2027 confirming the date and time of your presentation.
📝 Submission Guidelines
Abstracts should be no more than 300 words and should:

Include a Title: Maximum of 20 words.

Include up to to 3 relevant keywords.

Should not contain figures, tables, or graphics.

Should not contain marketing, commercial or promotional content.

Present original research, completed or in progress.
-
Describe scientific findings, innovative methods, or meaningful clinical or translational insights relating to iron metabolism, biology, or associated diseases.

Follow the structured abstract format:

Introduction
[State purpose and research problem] -
Methods / Patients
[Study design, models, analytical approach] -
Results
[Key findings] -
Discussion / Conclusions
[Interpretation and implications] -
Funding
Add any relevant funding

The submitting author is considered the corresponding author and must ensure that:

All names, affiliations, and emails are correct.
-
All co-authors have approved the final version.
The presenting author must register for the meeting; abstracts will not be scheduled unless registration is completed.
You may indicate your preference for oral or poster presentation; however, the Scientific Committee makes the final decision due to time and session constraints.
All abstracts will undergo peer review by the BioIron Congress Scientific Review Committee.
Evaluation criteria include:

Novelty and impact
Accepted abstracts will be published exactly as submitted in the official BioIron Congress Book of Abstracts.
Please carefully proofread spelling, grammar, and author information—no corrections will be made after submission.

Abstract Book
The Abstract Book will be published as a Special Issue of the American Journal of Hematology.
Travel Grant
Trainees who are presenting authors of a submitted abstract may apply for a travel grant to support their participation in the meeting.
